Yeah I heard this a couple weeks ago. Makes sense. If I was him I'd pocket the insurance money and rent the old KFC location too. I did like the Aloha Lehua operation. Local restaurant, the food was good. Sorry to see them go. I hope their departure worked out for them.

Best wishes to Sal and associates in the new loaction.

As an aside, does anybody know when the "Jersey" barricades will be moved off the sidewalk downtown?

Yes, seems like a good choice.
Pretty good parking, and can you imagine if they take advantage of the existing drive through order lane and window? PDQ tacos.

Sounds cool.

Maybe down the line they can take over the current Malama Market building--more of a roadhouse type of dealio. Maybe a mechanical bull and a 100 foot bar! Wink

Cheers,

Happy to hear that the Luquin Ohana finally has a place to go. We've missed them all! See you there!

That would be cool... if they did open up the drive through window and had a setup like tacohell ... Personally I thought a TecoBell instead of KFC would have made it there. Never cared for KFC in Hawaii, maybe if it was a popeyes or something like that.

Will be interesting to see how they set it up.

KFC's biggest problem was Malama. KFC was charging about $32 for chicken you could get right across the street for $17-18. Whether one was better than the other is open to debate.
