Cheap Chinese wood handle broke on pitchfork. The fork itself seemed in pretty good shape so didn't want to buy a new one. Checked out the replacement handles at Home Depot and couldn't justify spending over $10 on another cheap handle and they don't seem to sell fiberglass ones, so I left empty handed.
Got home and noticed that the receiver for the handle was just over 1" so I dug out the remainder of the handle with a pocketknife and found an old piece of 1" galvanized steel electrical conduit that was conveniently already handle length. Put the fork in the ground and drove the conduit into the tapered receiver using a fence post driver. Good as new, and didn't cost me anything.
