Is it bad if I say hawai'i county is seriously broken..the medical examiner should have been there within 20 minutes.maybe it took him that long to finish his lunch IDK. But it seems the county ..police etc.. don't take their job serious.

All - I'd urge a little caution before we know all the facts - that's if we ever do. For instance, is it realistic for a medical examiner to get to the location in twenty minutes? I don't think so. Ernest, who I have met (what a wonderfully joyous person he was), was pronounced dead late evening but that doesn't mean that's the time he passed away or was brought to the hospital. There are so many other factors I can think of, some of them not pleasant, but please think about what you post as it may be inaccurate and could cause distress to many who don't deserve it, especially his family.

TomK, I had posted what I saw, and a couple friends who also drove by even later, saw that he was still lying on the road after 9pm. Cops were still just standing around. Would they have acted differently if it was one of their own family? or a cop? There is no requirement that the coroner show up on the scene of an accident before a body may be removed.

I can't answer that question because I don't know all the facts. If the cops were still standing around it sounds as if they were waiting for something, but I don't know. Perhaps they were told not to do anything until someone else turned up, but am just guessing. I'm not trying to defend anyone, I'm trying to ask people to think about what they are posting and the harm it might cause if they don't know what was really going on. Read Tink's post for an example.

Some people just don't see motorcycles. I used to ride one, somebody did essentially the same thing to me; I barely managed to cut behind them (then proceeded to make sparks with my forearms as my bike pushed me down the street). Kept riding for a couple more years before I realized that I no longer enjoyed it... my eyes were always glued to those cars just waiting to pull out in front of me. RIP Earnest.

I used to think these bikes with the mufflers bored out were annoying... but there is a bit of logic behind it I think.. the louder the bike the more likely it will be heard and more noticeable.

The noise comes out behind the bike, not pushed out ahead of it.

Point made.. but still, when a particularly loud bike is coming down the road... you hear it coming... Unless you have your radio cranked.

Some motorcyclists take the viewpoint that loud exhausts save lives by alerting car drivers, however annoyingly, of their proximity. I have not outfitted my motorcycles with them (with one exception) due to my thinking that making car drivers mad at me because of loud pipes is not my goal at all. The last thing in the world I want is to be surrounded by motorcyclist hating car drivers.
None of the bikes you hear with loud pipes came with them from the factory. I won't overly criticize my brother and sister bikers for thinking this way. They may be right.

Unfortunately one fact is hard to escape. When on a motorcycle, you are the bumper.
My condolences to the Jackson family.
Assume the best and ask questions.
