I heard, between the first and second incidents of grandtheftbus, that Nakamura acquired his CDL. I remember thinking wtf, that can't be true?? So I guess that makes his actions okay. At least a lot safer for the public. I'm not sure how these young loonies come up with the thousands of dollars bail though? Must be uncle or tutu bailing them out. He has this obsession with buses but maybe he'll pan out to be a good guy. Maybe even a future Hele-on employee?

I was reading the local paper with my coffee this morning when I read a story about the guy who stole 2 transit busses, the second one while he was out on bail for stealing the first! I remembered this thread and thought I'd update it. Short answer- he got 5 years.

I thought it was a bit funny that he said to the judge, while pleading for no prison time, that he wants to become a correctional or police officer!

HI Someday @ 08:52:10 07/27/2018-
If Mr. Nakamura wants to be a correctional officer,
he may be able to get some good career advice from Faye Hanohano
and Danny Paleka.

This is not surprising.
The person had to be a bit off-their-rocker, one-flew-over-the-cuckoo's nest to steal a city bus for a joy-ride and then do it for a second time.
Insane people hear voices, make up scenarios and say the most bizarre things.
Visit a Kahi-Mohala type ward and see for yourself. Nothing said by the people living in that sort of place is newsworthy or surprising.

Can't help but feel a little sad about this. The guy's clearly not quite right and it seems like we'd all be better off if they found some way to channel his obsession more productively. Instead he gets more jail time on his first try (ok, second) than these serial burglars do on their 15th.

He stole from County, is why.
