Grocery Store Impact
#11
We went around 9:30. Very little traffic and Safeway was very quiet. Lines were really short for Friday.

We really stocked up!

just to add:
Sack n Save in Hilo was open today as I passed by....lot looked a bit crowded. Safeway was open, and uncrowded, as was their gas station...

Ice cream is the worst thing you can buy when you have a hurricane.

not if you would like an excuse to eat up the whole container... only if absolutely necessary, of course.... but nothing makes a disaster better than a freezer-clearing-sized serving of chunky monkey, or cherry garcia, or salted caramel, or mint medley, or... heck makes my mouth water just thinking of the disaster banana split one could have!

Makes my ice blocks soo blah!

Actually ice-cream or anything you buy to pack up your freezer is a good thing in a hurricane.

The fuller the freezer the longer it will stay cold when the power goes out.

Not the same for a fridge.
