HPP BIZ: Part the second
Yeah leo, I explained that:

"Appears you've already deleted part the 3rd..."

"Yeah,I started a new topic and moved my original post, which was a link to the newspaper article. No one posted anything there and continued posting here. So I was able to delete it. The only post was mine."

Well you are right Kahunascott. We don't know anything. I will say, that wating 4 years plus for an out come for us HPP residents has taken a toll. Can't imagine how it is for the illegally fired employees, having to get on with life with this massive thing hanging over their heads and knowing they are the innocent parties. This whole thing is a scam. Just like the GM suing a board member. I personally think it may be one of many distractions to keep the money and finances a secret just a little longer. And we pay more and our roads are crap.

Regarding the annual audit...the board voted to post it on the HPP website so you will be able to see it at a future date. I don't know when but the board voted that it get posted.

The board just voted for a vendor to asphalt pave 1st road. They are the company that did the Keaau Long's Drugs parking lot. The intent was to finish 1st road since it's only partially paved. This will allow those in the lower part of the park to have access from Kaloli to Makuu. I thought it was a good idea and voted for it. In the future I will support a lottery system as everyone should have a chance IMO to get their road paved. The upper roads have had most attention because of their population and the amt of maintenance needed. I can see the logic in that but at the same time, it's not equitable for all.

If we had the membership mtg today, a forensic analyst was on the agenda to speak to the membership and take questions. The board has not hired him to do a forensic analysis for HPP. Since the membership voted unanimously for a forensic analysis over 2 yrs ago, I totally supported his desire to come and speak to you. You all should get first hand information and have the opportunity to ask him questions. He has spoken to the board a couple of times over the past 2 yrs and I am impressed with his credentials.

Also on the agenda was to be the Membership Mailbox Committee's presentation.

Watch for an upcoming announcement for a rescheduled Membership mtg.

It has also come to my attention from lot owners who do FB, and I do not, that Kathleen Shaw has posted inaccurate information on FB about the NC's work. The NC was planning on giving a report today as well. The deadline for accepting candidates is 15 March 2019 at 4 PM. The Candidate Consideration forms are available on the HPP website. Elections are for District 1, 6 and 9.

Aloha HPP members,

Do you wish to foster an atmosphere of cooperation that encourages the participation of lot owners in the management and operation of the Association?

We are nearing the deadline for HPP lot owners to submit an application to run for the board. They are 3 yr seats for Dist's 1, 6 and 9. If you are from any of those districts or know someone who is, please encourage them to submit a Candidate Consideration form.

If no one comes forward, the district seat will be designated a vacant seat which will then be filled by board appointment by a majority board in July 2019, and the person appointed may not be from that district. Optimal would be for each district to vote for their own director via a district election ballot process.

Please assist in this effort if you know someone who is from these districts. Candidates must own property in the districts open for election this year and be current with their road fee. Here's the link to the district map:

You can drop off a copy (please make a copy for your files as well) at the HPP office, or with the Nominating Committee. You can contact the NC through this district email address: district5@hppoa.net

The link below is where you can print the Candidate Consideration form.

Deadline to apply is 15 March 2019 4 PM.

Given all the animosity when it comes to HPP, I'm surprised anyone would consider running for the board.

Well tom,
I tried to be even on the nominating committee and was chased off with Leo, by a very aggressive, and abusive board member. Was not worth the trouble. I been here in hpp 10 yrs, i will outlive them, just like i have outlived most of the idiots in my life so far. I will work within the system to change it. Thats one of tne reasons i became a CERT recently, as well as to help during the next scheduled disaster lol

I actually think most of the new board is doing a good job, the roads are scraped, the lines have been painted etc. Lets see eh?

Every day is a chalenge,go for it, u only live twice (shaken but not stirred)
Aloha

dan d I was wondering when you were going to pop up and post negatively about your very short stint on the NC. I was appreciative of your volunteerism and I told you so. You have not participated on HPP committees before and appeared to have little understanding of the difference between board and membership committees. The membership is the appointing body for the NC, not the board. That is a key difference. The bylaws directives for the NC duties are very specific, that is also key. The rest of the NC wanted to follow the bylaws. Apparently this didn't sit well w/you.

It's regrettable that you opened up that can of worms publicly so I must respond as you have made some serious allegations against me. If anyone was aggressive or abusive, it was you towards me. (There are witnesses) I will leave it at that w/out getting into details. Your agenda was adverse to the bylaws. We now have great members on the NC who respect their duties to the membership and are trying to serve the membership's best interest to have a clean and timely election.

TomK....I understand and agree with what you've said. The irony is that if good people don't step up to run in their districts, their district will have someone chosen by the majority board. Having the opportunity to vote for someone in their own district is removed from the equation. That's not optimal for their district or for the association as a whole.

Aloha HPP members,

A reminder that the deadline to sign up to run for Dist's 1, 6 and 9 is closing this Friday at 4 PM.

If you want a change on the board, want a change in what's going on with HPP biz and the park, please good people, step up and run.

If no one signs up, the majority board will appoint someone in July. If no one else signs up, current directors seated in those 3 districts may run again unopposed.

Please contact me at district5@hppoa.net if you have any questions. The candidate consideration form is posted on the website. You can turn in a signed form into the HPP office or to a Nominating Committee member.
