HPP BIZ: Part the second
mermaid posts...
"Roads are most important but the board of 3 are in lock down mode right now because the 2 of 3 directors have had no communication w/the third director, the president, since 19 Jun."

Maybe I'm wrong Mermaid, but the way I interpret our bylaws......he is no longer our President.
We are operating within a new term now...and he is standing in the way, appearantly, of having a legitimate Board of Director's meeting , where new officers are supposed to be installed.
Hence my understanding that there is no Executive committee right now. We are adrift.

I do recognize Larry Kawaauha as a current Board of Director..... PAST PRESIDENT NOT CURRENT PRESIDENT, he ran unopposed IN THE LAST ELECTION.
......our 2 remaining Board of Directors , Mayelin Stillwell (my district rep) and Leslie (I do not remember her last name ) have remained. That makes 3.
Haven't a clue how the law would interpret Crelly's written resignation and then verbally back tracking on it....OR why his change of mind can be posted on our website while important matters like meeting agendas and meeting announcements don't seem to get the same attention by our employees!....
So Chuckster, that's where we are at. At best 3.....possibly 4
and Kalakoa, in a perfect world, we would be able to attract at least 5 intelligent human beings to sit on our Board but we seem to attract those that prefer self aggrandization as their goal to serve and "collecting dirt" on others as the favorite past time.

The only relevant interpretation of HPP bylaws is that of a judge. Issues will remain unsolved until/unless the Association and its bylaws have their day in court.

Bylaws are not that confusing but couldn't agree more that this situation has reached a level where only legal means will remedy. ......

Seems like Crelly can wade in and out of the Board of Directors when the mood suits him, and no one can prevent it.

So you want a paid manager to manage the manager ?

Seems to me the general manager is doing a pretty good job maintaining the roads with what he has to work with.Meddling by board members who know nothing about roads has been a problem.

The biggest problem I have seen is people tearing up the roads on purpose and excessive speeding.HPP needs a stronger more active neighborhood watch.

Ps.

I am under contract on a property on the lower part of Makuu and it's going to be great to walk into a board meeting and introduce myself to mermaid53.

Obviously the general manager and employees don't want it. The running scared jumped ship reps don't want it. On FB they're saying Day Lum would be a conflict of interest. Say what? Either its political rhetoric or they have half a brain.

Obie says the general manager is doing a pretty good job maintaining the roads with what he has to work with. Meddling by board members who know nothing about roads has been a problem.

You don't know what you're talking about since you insist you don't own in HPP, never had any investment here. Unless you do own in HPP. Your husband is Crelly right? Pretty obvious by now.

My road's never been in worse shape since this general manager was hired. My road isn't the only one in HPP that's in bad shape. You doing damage control for the general manager, maybe your spouse too?

Groovy, this ought to make our legal mess all better.

A board of Director's meeting will occur , ( which was posted in a timely fashion on our web site by our employees) we will have bonafide officers of our Corp. installed. We will once again have an Executive committee acting as oversight to our employees as mandated in our by-laws, The Board members will be working in unison for the betterment of our roads.
And tacky petty gotchas will be a thing of the past.

Sad things can't be that simple. Politics, personal agendas f's things up. Agenda? Keep the same directors on the board, recyle old directors, in unison with the general manager to maintain their power? Look at the damage, have they no conscience or shame?

The problem with Freedom of Speech is the mentally unstable think they have something to say. If you are offended, I'm talking to you. Don't you have other things in life to do or keep yourself busy with?

Anyhow, so the President, Larry (whatever his last name is) who I have yet to see at a meeting I have attended, has quite an aggressive reputation for threatening lot owners and even my NICE neighbors. He's also rumored to be communicating with an attorney and cooperating with the GM but gee, not the BODs who didn't quit, didn't resign (and unresign), and didn't put the bond/insurance in jeopardy. Oh yeah, and who's watching the HPOAA money (and lots of it)!
