Well I came across 15 Lilikoi fruit on a walk today. I couldn't resist trying to make Lil butter. I used Carrie's recipe but only used 2cups of sugar instead of 4 and added a very small splash of lemon juice and a little real Hawaiian vanilla. Wow what a taste.
I'm sold. Thanks Carrie.
Aloha

Wyatt you're amazing! I would've done the same with the sugar. I found this recipe in the Newspaper...and I think the Hawaiian Vanilla is just the right touch. I will try it using Splenda and let you know how it works...first gotta get some lilikoi.
)) Oh yeah - hope you save a taste for me???

In addition to devouring the lip-lickin' fruits themselves, it might be kinda interesting to putter about with the leaves one day.

This is kind of an upscale bananna pancake recipe. We caught it on Oprah, from Morgan Freeman's caribean cookbook.
Bananna Beignets with vanilla bean ice cream haven't tried em yet but sure plan on it. Anyway thought I'd post it because they said it was kind of a pancake mixture the bannanas were dipped in before deep frying, made me think of bp's thought i'd share it with you all.

I'm impressed...here is this most delicious fruit ever and it's leaves are healing as well...someone else told me that the fruit itself helps with insomnia...
Thanks for the recipe Dave...it's a doozie.

Carrie, 4 of us had Vanilla icecream with
the Lilikoi butter topping. It was fabulous.
Let me know about the leaves I may try also.

Hi Mark & Richard! Just thought I would bring this forward to let you know the Lilikoi is in the ground...Tony & I dug holes and seated 5 fence posts around the septic vents in our yard...then he attached fencing...it's in a giant arch around the vents so that when the Lilikoi fills in it will be a real pretty wall of green...also - my seeds finally germinated when I put 'em outdoors, so when they mature a little I will plant them every several feet under the fence and then just train it through the fencing...thanks so much again, Richard you are awesome!
