Wuhan Corona Virus Coming Soon? (Now Here)
Wow, our state manages to suck at everything. Doctors thought they might have Covid-19 but the DoH threw away the samples because the patients didn't "meet criteria"? As in hadn't travelled from China? And they won't be ready to test samples for a "few weeks"? Maybe we have to borrow money from Rail to buy one microscope...

How can anyone doubt that we've got this contained, airtight, or close to airtight, or something?

The County should require the virus to get a permit of some sort to operate in Hawaii. By the time that happens the there will be a vaccine.

Should Casino's start taking preventative measures to help prevent the spread of this Coronavirus?
Many table game dealers handle 10's of thousands in cash while standing 3-6 feet from hundreds of people a night. I heard that the gambling capital of the world had shut down for weeks due to this Coronavirus so was wondering what other casino's around America and the world were going to do, if anything. Seems like gambling at the many casino's or on Cruiseships could be a Virus breeding ground.

Why? We have no "confirmed" cases of the virus. Everything is perfectly safe here.

Should Casino's start taking preventative measures

Who cares? We don't have any casinos here.

It appears the decision to not test in Hawaii has already been made either thru some strategy or complete incompetence. And we are simply left to wonder and explore the myriad of implications as if looking thru a kaleidoscope. Wonderful.

Kalakoa,
We have no casino's on the Big Island or we have no casino's in America?
Your probably right with the who cares attitude regarding large casinos. Maybe there are only a few people a week that travel to places like Vegas from Hawaii.
Could these types of gambling trips be a gamble to any others when they return back to Hawaii from Vegas?
A few folks from China, Japan and Korea may like to get away from the potential outbreak and Gamble a bit. Just thought places like Vegas could be hot spots for these outbreaks because of the currency and dirty chips being passed hand to hand. If we want to keep some of this Coronavirus from our Island chain we may want to curb travel to places like Vegas for the time being. Or, at least have future island gamblers know they may not be allowed back to Hawaii if they develop symptoms in Vegas.

Casinos is a good topic regarding the coronavirus. Gambling for Chinese and South Koreans is really huge from my travelling observations. They cram into smaller places than American casinos in hope of making their fortunes.

If it were really a problem and being taken seriously by government, travel would be highly restricted and large venues would be shut down.

Instead we have statements like "well it's just a matter of time" and "people should keep 14 days' supplies on hand".

Because money.

the decision to not test in Hawaii has already been made

Throwing away reports submitted by doctors is a pretty strong indication that "they" have decided not to care. After all, "they" get really good medical care. At our expense. We get the last box of worthless masks at Walmart. If we're lucky.

Substantive action ... but not by the government.
