Prepping for a virus situation
I am not going to destroy the economy while I'm at it

To think of yourself as having any effect on the economy, at all, is kinda narcissistic, don't you think?

For the last time: show me where the NIH says I can't go out to a restaurant. That is, I want to see a link.

Is the CDC an acceptable source of information?

Avoid crowds as much as possible.
During a COVID-19 outbreak in your community, stay home as much as possible to further reduce your risk of being exposed.

Who is at Higher Risk?
This includes: Older adults (which has been defined as over 60)

Avoid crowds, especially in poorly ventilated spaces. Your risk of exposure to respiratory viruses like COVID-19 may increase in crowded, closed-in settings with little air circulation if there are people in the crowd who are sick.

NIH "urged the American public to take seriously the threat of coronavirus and change behaviors to slow its spread"
=
not eating out in public as often as you'd like

Is that math simple enough?

CAN you eat out. Sure, there are no laws against it (yet). Does doing so right now help the health of your community. Maybe not so much.

If you really care about helping that business, donate your dinner money to them. It's pure profit for them and would go even farther to keeping them afloat than you showing up.

Here's an apology: I'm sorry I did some basic math to show the extremes of what another poster had implied and failed to understand some people's inability to understand what the words "estimates" & "assume" mean. I will try to take into account the reading level of my audience better in the future.

What is strange is that I think terracore would say I was accusing him of fear mongering, and in doing so, I'm now being accused of it. Oh well - can't please everyone, or anyone, or something.

PaulW - you can troll on about this as much as you like. Show everyone how I'm (now?) a doomer by posting what the NIH and Health Departments from around the world are saying. I'm going to spend my time on something more productive.

Its nothing you can do to stop it. Being so coupled with China's manufacturing base is causing severe disruptions across the entire global economy. They are between the virus and new year at least 4 or 5 months behind in production. Samsung, Apple just to name a couple have had to postpone the release of their new products. The halt in materials ripples through the Chemical industry, Building industry, Electronics and computer manufactures, Medical, Automotive, etc. All rely on some part, some piece, some product which is used in whatever end product being sold from china.
If you cant buy X product at a whim, its hard to inject money back into the economy. Kaleo's will appreciate your business. Grocery shopping and other daily needs. Most people are going to spend on anyway. But because of the slowdown in all the other sectors its like pissing on a fire to put it out..
I guess the point I'm trying to convey is that were far from being out of the woods. You want to split hairs, But the overall truth is that were in serious trouble, Economically and Health wise.

Please Paul, troll away.. entertainment is getting scarce.

If you want you can call me names. That's always good for a laugh or two.

Thank you for providing a link, HOTPE, instead of just hurling childish insults like ironyak.

Nothing in there that says I can't go to a restaurant. Yes, I can read.

If everyone in the world self-quarantined for a few weeks, and medical professionals followed best practices, we could wipe out this pandemic. On the other end of the spectrum, careless coughers and children sent to school where community transmission has happened will spread it and increase the death toll. Where we each individually fall on that spectrum is representative of our thoughtfulness and kindness.

Trying to minimize the CONVID 19 crisis in order to preserve income is insanity. When people talk, as PaulW does, of preserving the economy, as if that is more important than our health, we have entered an era where a complete collapse of what we know as normal is possible. Not because of the virus, but because of those individuals inability to comprehend the dangers and their subsequent contributions to perpetuating it.

Paul, like me or not, call me names all day long, but please wake up. Your neighbors, your community, needs you to step up and set aside your opinions and behave like a compassionate, caring, human being.

It doesn't matter what you think. We're all idiots. Fine. What matters is what you do. What's the big deal? Take a few weeks off, stop drowning your sorrows at your local bar. Stop with your hostility long enough to realize that you too could do something to help yourself, and your neighbors. Try, rather than pushing the envelop backing off a bit and caring for those you would rather bitch about. So you can bitch about them later, when this passes.

Thinking some of you may be interested in learning about the Marik Protocol. It is an I.V drip containing vitamin C, thiamine, and hydrocortisone. All very safe and affordable ingredients. It is used in intensive care units for sepsis and septic shock that comes from ARDS and other health problems. It was studied using 2 comparable groups of 47 each. 19 people died in the control group getting the regular treatment. Only 4 died in the group getting the Marik Protocol and their stay in ICU was much shorter. The thing is, some ICUs use the Marik Protocol and some don't. So don't know if it is offered here at our island hospitals or not. I think some naturpaths do I.Vs. I think there is one in Hawi, and I remember there was one in Puna a long time ago that did retreats. Would rather see someone hooked up to an I.V. laying in sun, on the grass, with a breeze than in a hospital bed if possible.

Thiamine is used to treat vitamin B1 deficiency. It is also given as an IM injection, not IV.
