Josh is a smart guy. You can tell he was not trying to rock the boat politically with the governor, but he says people should only be going out for medical and grocery needs, or to operate critical infrastructure. Meanwhile, here's Ige's list of "essentials":
Code:
What is an essential business?
Health care operations and essential infrastructure
Grocery stores, farmers markets, food banks and pet supply stores
Farming and fishing operations
Businesses that provide food, shelter and social services
The media
Gas stations, car and bike repair businesses, and towing services
Banks and related financial institutions
Hardware stores
Plumbers, electricians, exterminators, and other service providers who maintain the safety,
sanitation and essential services needed in homes and businesses
Businesses that provide mailing, shipping and delivery services
Educational instutitions
Laundromats, dry cleaners and industrial laundry services
Restaurants and other facilities that prepare and serve food for delivery or carry out
Businesses that supply products needed for people to work from home
Businesses that supply other essential businesses with supply
Airlines, taxis and other private transportation providers
Home-based care for seniors, adults or children
Residential facilities and shelters
Professional services, including legal, accounting, real estate and other services
Childcare facilities
Businesses that provide food, shelter and other needs for animals
Hotel and motels
Funeral, mortuary, cremation and related services
Building and construction services
Critical labor union functions
Licensed private detectives, guards and similar agencies
Geez, what does that leave out?!

Probably a professional courtesy for Magnum P.I.'s contribution to Hawaii.

"Critical labor union functions"
Don't you just love that one? This must include junkets to Vegas, assorted shake-downs, and stealing member funds for personal use. Oh, and we mustn't leave out beating up people who complain or get in the way of the above activities.

I'm keeping an open mind here: how is all construction considered essential, as opposed to case by case emergency projects? I know people still doing home improvements across town because "it's on the list".
Ige's little hookup to his union buddies? Hey, only 20% of the infected are likely to wind up in the ICU, right?

Oh, come on, randomq, somebody has to spread the virus around. Why not the unions?
