Absolutely insane at 11am Saturday. Backed up from the roundabout to Paradise drive moving about a car length every 5 minutes. I left after 10 minutes

"The Hawai‘i Department of Transportation will be closing a single lane of Kea‘au-Pāhoa Road (Route 130) at its intersection with Ainaloa Boulevard for the final paving of the Ainaloa Roundabout. By some amazing coincidence this lane closure is scheduled just in time for the opening of the Pahoa farmer's market. I heard Maku'u was going to open today too. Too bad there's no alternate route ... looks like my money and I will be staying home.

Funny Obie!
A one hour round trip to iNatch and Longs turned into 2-1/2 hours to go to Pahoa yesterday for my wife. Glad I stayed home! |
