COSTCO ...?
#31
Never heard of it.  Pre-Covid I used to take neighbors orders when I went over the hill.  My gas was covered and I donated the labor.  Maybe you can start something similar in your neck of the woods...

Thanks, I get there often enough for the usual provisions, 5 gal bucket of this, 20 lb slab of that.  I wanted to see if they deliver larger items like a sofa.

I got ya now.  Unfortunately, the quick answer is no.

No shipping options from your local warehouse to your home.  Gotta use the .com, and wait for the boat.

Renting a truck from U-Haul or Home Depot might end up being cheaper than or on par with shipping fees.

I just checked Kona Costco, put the 96778 zip code in for delivery on a couch and it says…

“ Delivery and Set Up : $299.00

Delivery requires additional transit time. We estimate 7-10 business days for you to be contacted by the delivery agent to schedule your appointment.
The Delivery Agent will contact you to schedule an appointment once the product arrives at their terminal, which will be approximately 48-72 hours prior to delivery.”

Costco.com will deliver most things but I think the only thing they deliver free to Hawaii is appliances.  The stuff comes from the mainland, not the local costco.  Their shipping charges are usually pretty fair, it's obvious they aren't passing on the entire paradise tax.

Home Depot will randomly deliver furniture and other stuff for free, mostly stuff listed on their "special buy of the day" page:  https://www.homedepot.com/SpecialBuy/SpecialBuyOfTheDay  We had some large cabinets and a sofa delivered.  Hint:  for free delivery to Hawaii you have to beat the algorithms and that means it has to be an item in their California warehouse, nothing that contains lithium batteries, and no selecting any type of extended warranty.  The web site says they only deliver curbside, but the local delivery company has always brought it to the house.

OK.
Here's the deal on Kona Costco deliver to Puna.
1) They will deliver on Fridays, but only to a business location, not residential.
2) Minimum order is $1000.
3) Delivery fee is $100 for the first pallet, $25 for second, $25 more for a third

I have phone extension and email.

Not sure where everything originates, but on Oahu, Costco now controls the old Sears Distribution Center in Pearl City, and Costco now stores a lot of appliances there. For example, if you have the Iwilei Costco selected, certain appliances will be delivered in 3 days on Oahu. Not sure if they ship outer island from this Pearl City Costco facility, or if all items to Kona come from the mainland.
