bland Asian food and warm Bud Light
In Puna that’s a wash.
+5% tip for the bland Asian food
-5% tip for the warm beer (unless it’s due to a HELCO power failure)

I must say, being banished to the back of The Puna Web Bar & Grill, right next to the restrooms, I am a bit dismayed at whomever hired the interior decorator and came up with this for the Men's Room door:
Do one of you guys have something to prove??
Anyways, the Asian food is the blandest ever, and I'll take one more Bud Light, but make it a little warmer please!
Thanks!

I have a flight booked on a Hawaiian 787 in November. I'll give a brief review after the flight.

The only baggage I had was my purse and laptop. Made me wait until each and every checked bag was claimed. Asked repeatedly why I would fly to California and back in a few hours.
------------
That is fairly normal. A flight of more than 4 hours, with no checked baggage can be flagged. They are looking for drug and money couriers. I have a house near Miami and another in Galveston. Since I have full clothing, etc. in all three places, I routinely have no checked baggage, almost always buy one-way tickets and get "the treatment" despite having Global Entry (which includes TSA PreCheck). Generally takes 2-3 minutes of extra time. I have encountered the same TSA agents a few times, who remembered me from previous questioning and they smiled and waved me through.

Sure.
Flag people flying without luggage. Track them to their home.
But print counterfeit $100 bills in Hilo and spend them across East Hawaii? Get caught doing it? May I hold the door for you sir?

I think it was back in 2008 or so, I had to fly to Germany to complete some certification test requirements that our proctor had forgotten to have us do on a previous trip. With only a small carryon bag, I traveled from Hilo to Seattle one day, spent the night, then traveled the following day to Frankfurt. I spent one day in Mannheim to complete my requirements (which took maybe an hour). I flew back to Seattle the following day, spent the night, then flew home to Hilo. I kept waiting to get pulled aside by security at each stop, but it never happened.
In April of this year I was flying home from Charlotte NC. TSA scanned my license, and it was flagged. The agent told me that their software had just been updated and they were noticing issues with the update. Licenses from Hawaii and Nevada, if I recall correctly, were being falsely flagged as not being compliant. The agent waved me through and apologized.

It's true my luck seems to run in one direction. It's a bit of a running joke among people who know me especially if there is any dining out. There is always a 90% chance that either they don't have what I try to order, I receive the wrong thing, or there is something seriously wrong with it beyond being bland (for example, food that is supposed to be hot, being frozen in the middle).
I remember one poor waiter coming back to the table after we ordered and was embarrassed to tell me that they were out of whatever it was ( I have long forgotten) so I ordered something else, and a few minutes later, came back even more embarrassed that they were ALSO out of that. Well you probably know where this is headed, after the third time, and I wasn't trying to be difficult, I simply asked if they could tell me what they DO have, instead of me playing menu-whack-a-mole. With 100% confidence he told me that he had already spoke with the kitchen and they were absolutely sure that with the exception of the three things I tried to order, they definitely could make anything else on the menu.
Wrong! Bland and wrong!

I donʻt like taking pleasure in othersʻ misfortune, but I have to admit, the combination of your bad luck along with your story-telling abilities make for spinning some might fine yarns.
Certainty will be the death of us.
