We love watching movies. There are a few great movies that we've seen recently (some are big movies that I'm sure most people have heard of, some are not):
Lars and the Real Girl August Rush The Savages Juno Year Of The Dog Stranger Than Fiction Reign Over Me Once Neither of us had heard of "Women on The Verge Of A Nervous Breakdown", but we looked it up online and that will be our next rental.

New movie that came out from the director of the station agent (if you haven't seen this, it is an amazing heart warming movie, low budget movies are the best story telling movies) the movie i just saw is called "The Visitor" staring the dead dad from Six Feet Under.
Hopefully it will make it to the Big Island and DVD eventually....the station agent has been on DVD for a few years now. noel

LOVED Station Agent. Just a really, really great movie. We have "The Visitor" on our list of movies to watch. That list has gotten even bigger after reading this thread. Thanks everyone for your recommendations!

StillHope, my most favorite Gerard D. movie is "Camille Claudel" (1988). It's about Auguste Rodin and his affair with Sculptor Camille Claudel (Isabelle Adjani). I swear it's more passionate and depressing and beautiful than most I can think of...and Isabelle Adjani is stunningly pretty. Do you know it? ------------------------------------------------------ "Passionate, depressing and beautiful"-couldn't say better! The movie brought a poet in you,Carrie!

Wow, movie lists!
Here's a few unusual ones: 1. Secret Ballot, wonderful, warm, human film about an Iranian election official taking votes from people on an island (mandatory voting) and their interactions with her. A feel good film of the highest order. 2. Santa Sangre, stunning, fantasy/morality play about the redeeming power of unconditional love. Not for the faint hearted. A top ten film of all time, imho. 3. Schizolpolis, Eventualism!!! Funny stuff, weird. 4. PAN'S LABYRINTH, wonderful fantasy film. 5. Panama Deception, Documentary re. the invasion of Panama, eye opening reporting and coverage. 6. Run From the Cure, CBC film special available on youtube. A guy in Canada curing a bunch of people with cancer with a homemade oil, (kaneh-bosm/kanebahn). Watch him cure his melanoma in four days, nothing newsworthy here!
