Well, beauty is definetely in the eye of the beholder, and there is a certain whimsy to the place. To each his own. It's just so......jarring. Here is the normal thought process when you see that place: Oh, look.....ha...ha...ha....a castle in Hawaii on an old lava flow....it's not a pretty castle....god that place looks like it would get hot....it's all closed up looking....jeez that's not very Hawaiian looking...ewwwww-- just ran over a mongoose.

THAT BEING SAID, I have decided that Daniel Bona is a genius, when you look at the overall quality of his work. Innovative materials, a wide-range of styles, obviously able to accomodate the wishes of any client. We are lucky to have a genius such as Daniel Bona among us.

Carey: On the outside of the building are these inscriptions: "Kehena" and "O.I.N", which is latin for ordonus inctus nictu which, in English means "The Knights Who Say 'Neep'".

I also saw the HGTV special on this home. I was not impressed with the design or floor layout. On the otherhand, it was nice to see a home built without wood, since this is what we intend to do.

We have been in the concrete house. It is a little odd. Not to our taste. Very industrial
feel. It is construction is amazing though, and he view is incredible.

As for the castle I will keep quiet as they are members of
our community. But it doesn't really fit as Glen mentioned[Wink][Wink]

At the other end of the scale, there are quite a few "kit" houses in Seaview that Daniel also drew. When Argus started into the kit house business over 8 years ago, Daniel drew plans for Argus that were economical and easy to build. Most of them are still being used by Argus today.
