PCDP - It's an historic WIN!!
#11
What is even better... and I don't know if Rob made this clear...

Is that it Passed WITHOUT any Ammendments! (tips to Hunter.)

Puna will not be pushed around.

I hope this shows that we aren't the weak and feeble that the rest of the State often casts upon the People of Puna.

We are the first to have a community development plan passed by the people!

(disclaimer: I was off island as the plan was written and only supported the plan)

So Kudo's to those that worked so hard on this.

I say you guys deserve a real pat on the back.

Terrific.

I neither participated in the plan nor do I agree with every word in it; the reason I showed up today was because I believe that when a community steps up to such a challenge, its elected representatives should respect it. I am glad that at least 5 council members saw it that way.

Great job guys.

Just thought I'd share this little irony with you all.

Came home from the rally today to find a letter from the County Planning Dept. mailed YESTERDAY inviting Puna CDP steering committee and working group participants to a "mahalo event" on Sept. 7 "in celebration of the community dedication and effort in preparing the Puna CDP." Deadline for RSVPing with the number of your guests (immediate family)??? TOMORROW!!! (July 31)

So if you haven't checked your mail or mail delivery is slow in your neighborhood, RSVP with the # of guests in your party by contacting Shirline Brown @ 966-5075 or shirmone@hotmail.com or Liz Salfen @ 982-8412 or jes323@hawaiiantel.net by this Thursday.

Hey, Punaweb! Who do you guys think you are? Concerned and committed citizens and denizens of Puna? How dare you! Congratulations Rob Tucker and all who took the time to support the plan, near and far.

I also offer Congratulations! to those who worked so hard to get the plan through. Special Congratulations! to Rob, as his efforts were most evident to me through punaweb (and other sources), being so for away that I am.

Congrats Rob, thanks for all your effort and for Punaweb.
Now, one issue at a time can be ammended in public view, with open citizen participation.
Plus we might get more Fed highway funds.

Rob,
I see you have been outed - there you are on the front page (E-edition in my case) of the Tribune-Herald. Now everyone knows who to look for when they are looking for an "activist". Dr. W. also got quoted, among others. Congratulations.
