Oh, I meant the representative from Alert Alarm. I do not have representatives stationed around the world. That would be Ron Burkle!
I know EXACTLY what you mean about the quality issue.

When we had a retail store a couple of years back, we picked up a system at Costco that worked just fine (Internet enabled) for about $1200. It including everything, including the monitor and recording devise. It even had sound so you could send a message to an intruder ("I see you! Go away," or whatever).

I live in Juneau, Alaska and own 2 side by side lots in HPP. I vist the property yearly (will be there next March). I do not to plan to build on theese lots for at least 10 years. I too am interested in a remote camera system but my main problem is that my land is vacant and I do not have the power hooked up yet. Also I do not have phone service or web access either. Could this be done through cellular or wifi service? I was thinking I could put up a small shed to house a modem with a solar panal and web cam on top. If I did somthing like this, would I have to get a building permit for the shed? Your thoughts appreciated.

digital cameras have a timer. could you set it to video mode, mount it to a pole, set it, raise the pole, and then start slowly rotating the pole. If that worked you'd have a 360 movie.
