looking for Trumpet flower (datura) starts
#11
I bet they eat anything.
Throw some 16-16-16 on them and I doubt they'd complain.

(actually I use the acid-loving plant formula for azaleas, just because).

Jerry, I will try feeding mine more. It's not all that vigorous getting by on once every three months. Thanks for the tip.

PS. Your peachy heliconia is sending up the tips of new shoots today.

Aloha, Kathy. Glad to hear the peachies are sprouting. It was the other Jerry who suggested more fertilizer for the datura, though. I use triple 16 about four times a year and get pretty profuse blooming along with having to prune back the bushes. Maybe the weather here in HPP is more favorable????

Cheers,
Jerry

I am only at about 500' and mine are doing spectacularly with no food. We have very good soil here. Mine are peach. Lost Boy... how many cuttings do you want? This guy is 14' tall and I am going to cut it back after these blooms fade. As soon as I find my seeds you can have some too.

oh man, of course it was the other Jerry.
That makes two screen name confusions this week for me.

My pink angel's trumpet is blooming nicely right now. [Smile]
In general they prefer higher up than I am, or HPP either.
They do well in Kainiliu, which is about 1400 feet ... it's a bit hot where I am, in summer.
But yeah, I need to fertilize more.

wow snicker I feel like a kid being asked how many pieces of candy do you want, LOL

I wont be greedy but I would love 4 or 5. that way if one or two dont survive, I will have a couple I can take cuttings from. eventually I would like to have them all around the property line mixed with gardinia, jasmine. its all about the smells[:p]

I think that the blooms will last another few days and then I will cut them. You can either come by here (just North of downtown Hilo) Or I can drop them by the shop if you tell me when you will be there.
