Ah yes, a vision of Pele's future plans...
By 2020 Madam Pele will cross Hwy 130 somewhere or another and cut off a decent sized chunk of lower Puna. This island within an island will finally be liberated from the ever-increasing demands for more infrastructure, more development, more of what it never was.
It will instead, finally be loved and celebrated for just exactly what it is by the remaining residents.
If you want beer - that'll be a long sweaty hike or a respectable paddle up to Hilo from the port of Pohoiki, the new major center.
(Hint: Stock up on beer and be nice to Pele)
