Call me crazy, but we called the tax office as their records were incorrect on ours. The reason for doing this is the SF listed was less than the residence is. The MLS listing must reflect the tax records. (John R or D correct me if I am wrong?)
Since we have the property for sale, we wanted the MLS to reflect the correct SF. I asked if this will be changed with the new building permit we are pulling to correct the unpermitted deck, and the reviewer almost audibly sniffed "we do not rely solely on THEIR records"... lol... it was kinda funny!
(In this case, the error on SF was made way back in 1975 - we dont know if the Bldg Inspector missed the extra 130+ SF or what? It was not a remodel on that portion. )
