Not contradictory, I don't think, pog. To express nahenahe thoughts still requires discipline and excellent musicianship and a certain level of professionalism -- they just make it sound easy. It isn't. And striving for professional level service can mean something as simple as not delivering a cocktail with a napkin that is sopping wet from spillage en route.
John -- I have to agree on Huggo's. It has a great location in that it is near Snorkel Bob's but is otherwise unremarkable. One place I really like is Annie's Island Fresh Hamburgers down near Captain Cook (might not have the name right).
And I still contend that the best two restaurants on the island are not restaurants at all: 1) Kalani's for lunch and 2) the Green Papaya Salad ladies of the Hilo and Maku'u Farmer's markets. I asked for my salad so hot last time, I couldn't even say hello my throat was so swollen with pleasure. But, you know, hello!
