First let me say I don't really give a rip about the debate topic of the thread. It's a done deal now and it will be what it will be so I have no interest.
but

The BS:
1)Yes there have always been gays in the military and recruiting ("convert") attempts would naturally be reduced (not eliminated) when a person is concerned about being outed. 2)In my 20s I had gay men try to recruit me 3 times. I never considered myself "cute" at the time but maybe I had a nice azz or something (I don't believe my wife even thinks I'm cute now). I was working in the hospitality industry at the time if that means anything.
So yes, some gay men do recruit.
3)Your other example with the dorms is bad too. Most (any I know of) co-ed dorms are co-ed for the building, or even floor but not within the suites or rooms themselves. Big difference.
