Yes, Hawaii Ag accepts leg bands as long as they are "Closed Banded" but these can be removed and then you have no ID for the bird.

The microchips are injected into the breast muscle, if put anywhere else they migrate within the body because of the air sacks.

Most varieties of figs grow in Puna really well and they are also an excellent food item for parrots. They have the highest calcium level of any fruit.......actually figs are an inverted flower but that is another story.
