Rene, I get a different take on that incident that might should be considered as a caution on public safety. Your view is the ideal outlook as we usually want to think the best but it also puts you at risk. You want to believe you were not in any danger because you believe he only considered it a ceremonial object. However, his later alleged actions would prove he in fact thought of it as a weapon. In other words, yes you and the public were at risk. Whoever was in charge of security likely dropped the ball by not acting and you guys were just lucky. Make sure the person in charge of security learned from the event.

No, I was not there and my view could be wrong. I tend to look more at the safety and security aspect.
