Cost of a catchment tank cover

Tom, when we purchased our tank cover six years ago we were told that you can spend less and get one that will last for at least a few years or spend more and get what is essentially the material used to cover trampolines which will last longer. We took the latter path and despite some lichen growth etc. at the edges the cover still looks sturdy.

A friend recently purchased one of the cheaper ones at the WaterWorks store across Kam Avenue from Ken's Pancake House (used to be a hardware store) and paid $135 for a cover for a 15-foot tank (actual measurement is 18 feet in diameter).
