Reminds me of a funny story. Walking along Paradise Ala Kai road and we got to talking to a couple that lived by the ocean there. First thing they asked was how did we like vacationing in Hawaii? Curious why they asked that, I asked them how could they tell we were on vacation. Well it was we were wearing shorts and everyone else was wearing long pants and sometimes jackets. HPP had gotten "cold" for them in the winter.
So you do get "used" to it.
One other thing to think about is as you get older, you are less able to keep warm and a warmer climate might be more comfortable for you.
