My point was the time it took to get the far more "secure" Govm't photo ID than the state ID, but TWIC is a valid TSA document that SHOULD be accepted by TSA agents... whether or not they do.,... well, that is another matter:
From the TSA FAQ's:
"Is TWIC an acceptable form of ID at an airport screening checkpoint?
Yes, the TWIC card is an approved government issued photo ID."
