There is a big difference between "researching the need for more boxes" and trying to engineer forcing people to move from receiving their mail in US Postal Service boxes in their own neighborhood to being the captive customers of a private business. Exactly what is going on here? Is this Kea'au business owner trying to jump the shark here by creating a rumor on the coconut wireless that he hopes will turn into a self fulfilling prophecy?
This whole meme of "I have heard" and "there is talk" smells a little fishy to me. I pay pretty close attention to the local news sources and I had heard not a peep about this issue of the boxes being vandalized so often that they are bankrupting the Post Office, nor had I heard someone was hit or nearly hit, getting their mail. Where do these kinds of rumors get started anyway?
