I have to say that we get plenty of sun where we are. That is on 23rd about a couple blocks off Kaloli on the Shower side. WE gat a nice mix of weather. Most nights, we get rain. It waters the plants and keeps our catchment tank nice and full. Almost every day we get sunshine. We do get some rainy days too, but mostly rain at night. That is perfect for me. I ride motorcycles scooters and bicycles. Most of the time when I need to go somewhere it isn't raining and I take the scooter. Today, I did a bicycle ride from Hilo to home for the first time. No rain. I'll be 60 in a few months and have been planning a ride to Hilo and back. Today we had to return a rental car, so I hauled my bike in my pickup and picked my wife up at the rental car place at the airport. She then dropped me off at Aloha Fitness, where I did my Tuesday workout, and then rode my single speed bike home. I had 2 workouts today.
Now our daughter lives down on 3rd off Makuu, and they certainly get more sun and warmer temps down there. But I know that some owners in the lower areas run out of catchment water and have to pay to have their tanks filled. That seems to run about $160. So, there is that to consider. We like right where we are at just fine.
