Soldering flux is best for any desoldering. It lowers the melting point of the existing solder on the connection, and makes the solder flow in such a manner that it can be easily sucked up with either a solder sucker or wick. I repaired a number of boards during the 'capacitor plague' of a few years ago. Amazing that a 20 cent part can shut down a thousand dollar device. Try Mouser or Digi Key online.
