In every online forum that I participate in or otherwise just read occasionally the number one rule is “No Personal Attacks.” Why is PW different? Why are personal attacks tolerated here? They are demeaning, rude, childish, and have no place in civil society. They are not welcome in any other form of public gathering, so why do they have a prominent place in the PW discourse?
I know the rules we agree to when we registered here say no trolling, but why does it not say No Personal Attacks? Why? And what good is a rule that is unenforced?
We have a few participants here that make almost no constructive contribution but post personal attacks practically everyday. We have others that are intelligent enough to actually make a contribution, but still give them no topic to reply to and they go off and personally attack someone, as if they are addicted to posting and if nothing else will attack other members here so as to scratch that itch. Why is this tolerated?
