The 61g lava flow is still active on the coastal plain on K#299;lauea’s south flank, and as of Sunday USGS Hawaiian Volcano Observatory scientists reported lava was 0.15 miles from the coastal emergency road in Hawaii Volcanoes National Park.

John Tarson of Epic Lava Tours says it looks like the lava flow is going to cross the road today. In a video update posted to the Epic Lava Facebook page today, Tarson estimated the lava was only 150 to 200 feet away.
