Ebola outbreak continues to cause concern,
#18
Tom, NPR has been doing a lot of coverage on the limited outbreak, and yesterday covered the vaccine development, which as you stated is a couple of years out.

One good thing is that though this is a horrible virus, it is not as infectious as most

transmission is only from people who show signs of illness
transmission is only from direct contact with a sick persons bodily fluids, and usually through copious contact (family healthcare workers without our western basic protection & family members doing ritualistic body preparation for burial are the most common transmission routes. The recent western healthcare workers infected were in area with limited resources & high infection rates.)

This virus has also shown no mutational changes so far, which is very good for those that are looking to control it through vaccination.

Most likely remote places like Hawaii, far from the African continent, will have the least likely chance of infection, and the time it takes for anyone to get here from the African continent will be the most effective prevention for Hawaii.
