There does seem to be something strange going on in the area with the vegetation and other things: not flowering, or flowering prolifically out of season, and similar from several scattered post here on PW.
I'm also including the Hummingbird Moth showing up as part of this.
They seem to cover areas not likely to be directly affected by the eruption as well as some that were.
I'm also noticing similar and other anomalies here in "directly affected land".
My Lamb-Hass avo's are ripening in a not necessarily organized manner.
I've had a couple of the fruit begin turning dark and drop from the tree.
The first one a few days ago was not seen at first and might have been on the ground for a while.
It did turn bad.
One dropped today and has been brought in to see how it fares.
It was turning dark more evenly than the first.
My feeling is that while it is small, as all the fruit on that tree are, it will ripen satisfactorily.
I'll know in the next few days.
I will be watching the tree very closely to see what the remaining fruit do.
This avo cultivar should not begin ripening until early next summer.
Our cat are catching very small rats.
They look more like runty mice than rats.
That may be due to my rat poisoning program now in effect.
The mother's maybe being killed and the young maybe forced out of the nest much sooner than normal.
Am I turning into a "flying saucer nut" or are others seeing similar?
