Correct. Time was the enemy here for Ms. Hanabusa and she seems to have lost. She and her supporters were banging the table for this appointment and were politely received. That consideration was construed as positively as it could have ever been by her camp, which is commonly a successful ploy in politics. A rumor becomes an assumption (common knowledge) that becomes a certainty that leads to an appointment (or an election). In this instance the Ige team seems to have remained unaffected by the pressure, in that the appointment hasn't been announced, and the longer it goes the less likely for her.
I brought it to this Forum since the Congresswoman had spent a lot of time here during the final stage of her campaign. My tongue in cheek final comment had more to do with the likelihood that she would have a bad memory of her loss and that Puna was likely now in even more dire straits than is it's norm.
