Pahoated-
There were 134 out of 137 non profits this year who applied for grants from the County of Hawaii and received awards totaling $1.5 million dollars. Many of the np's are doing great works and helping those less fortunate, who if you ween't so ignorant and nasty on the subject would see how most of these np's monies are used to make their lives easier. If you were at the Pahoa Malama Market yesterday, you would have seen the HIFB asking for donations (like their team and staff did around the island yesterday in different districts and supermarkets) from shoppers, again if you were actually out there in the trenches instead of hiding anonymously like a coward behind your computer taking cheap shots and spreading false rumors on public forums that hurts these non non profits build the credibility and gain the support needed in the community. The HIFB is not perfect, as we have in the past read, but they are a conduit to help many in the community get food to feed themselves and their families. As one who consults and helps these np's raise money, I am appalled that you continually misstate, lie, and heckle volunteers who are trying to be part of a solution to the problem and needy who are trying to survive.
If you had any guts, meet me at the feeding at the PPSK soup kitchen and when you do look around and see how grateful and appreciative these people are at being fed, which if you were to actually get out there and take a look around, these selfless volunteers have been doing if for over 5 years.
Again, either meet me on Tuesday, or roll up your sleeves and be a leader and find a cause that will make a difference in the community or just plain shut your big mouth and stop spreading lies that hurt every Puna volunteers ability to help in the community for different causes.
As this is Sunday, I am going to say a prayer for that you have a compassion for others and a realization that we all must serve.
