East Hawaii Hospitals Face Layoffs
#26
So sad indeed. I'm currently on the mainland to get some health care services. I don't want to leave my home in Hawaii, but not sure if I can get the care I need there. On the flip side, this trip here has been an education that I cannot be on my own either. Home health services, which I worked in years ago, is a life line for many. If they close the psych unit, what happens to those patients' needs? Is there a state hospital? Crises units that have trained staff to deal with a suicidsl, psychotic, or manic patient? Wow...I'm bummed to hear this news.

Best wishes
