It's very ironic that the Chain of Craters roadwork so far is enough to get a front seat view of the lava flow heading towards it when the CoC was an alternative exit route. The county is being a lot more mellow about sightseers this time around. It makes sense, encourage the tourist traffic. For some reason, when the lava flows south, it isn't sacred but if it is flowing northeast, it is sacred and needs to be protected. Fruit loop lack of logic reigns supreme in Puna. Lava is not Pele's blood, it is more like oil leaking out of a mech suit.
