Five years for theft

I dunno. This is sort of like removing a part of the Statute of Liberty, say, the lamp, no? Although the Hilo statue is not as historical as others, it is culturally significant, adds to the charm of our town and belongs to all of us. If I recall, a bell was recently stolen from a temple. It had been there for years (I think it was recovered). Maybe this sort of vandalism should be taken seriously.
