I wanted to bring this topic back, since most of the comments to date here are somewhat negative. Really think they deserve another look if you've been there already, and definitely a try if not. Place is called Honi Wai, on the left travelling toward Volcano, just before Hilo Coffee Mill.
Parking: 4 spaces down the hill behind the restaurant, two just off the highway. Small menu but excellent food. Fast service, nice presentation and very nice staff. Excellent Pastrami sandwiches served panini style. Eggplant on a sesame bun and Portobello sandwiches also very good. Cafe has a good 'vibe' with low music not disturbing conversation and is very clean and comfortable. Pricing is moderate, in line with any of the decent places in the Hilo area.
I have no financial interest in this business, but would like to bring it to your attention as being worthy of your patronage.
