Strange Goin's On
#3
I do know that there is some speculation that honeybee populations may have been affected by the eruption & VOG (USDA has been querying beekeepers)
I have heard a lot of incidental speculation on the fruits that normally flower from May-August being affected this year from Hamakua through to Kona...
Of course, we have also had a lot of tropical storms from late spring till now...so... there is that to add into the speculation...
For us, our tangerine, which normally is loaded with hundreds of tangerines has 2.... that`s right, I counted both of `em.... tangerines... & hundreds of thousands of pollinators right by it, yet neighbors have tangerine trees with tangerines...so....

& YES EW, there are seasonal fruiting schedules for many of the plants in the tropics (try to get a homegrown local white pineapple in February, or a bag of locally grown sweet navel oranges in May!) THINK of all of the localy grown fruit that normally is available only during a few months!
