Mango Pitter
#12
The mango pitter looks good, but what to do if the mango is too big? We were camping a few weeks ago, and my teenage son went for the mangos. He took a simple knife and cut it in half, right through the seed, then used a spoon and ate it like it was a bowl.

I kinda freaked when I saw him cutting throught he seed, but before I could get two words out it was cut. Then I tried it and as long you don't press hard on the mango and give it a little sawing action, it cuts right thru, no harm to the blade, no juice, no mess.

Of course these were Keitt mangos, so I don't know how hard the seeds of other varieties are. Guess sometimes it takes a careless teen to teach us old dogs new tricks!

Better hurry tho, mango season almost pau!

Do what you like. Like what you do.
