We're just feeling things out at the moment. I get the impression there's a lot of climatic diversity in a small area in Puna. We've got a lot to see, it'll probably take another trip or 2 before we decide for sure about making the move. NYC to Puna might come as a bit of a culture shock...
As for market watching and deciding when to buy...well, for every guy telling us to wait, there's one telling us to buy now. The realtors I've been in touch with do seem awefully keen to show us around, which kind of says something! We're in no hurry, but having a spot on Hawaii that we can point to and say "MINE!" is motivating...
Scott - we're in Brooklyn, NY at the moment, slaves to the wonderful world of TV advertising. Wifey and me are both in the video/motion graphic business. It sucks, but it does pay well enough that we'll be able to plop down cash for a slice of Puna. We're not breaking the bank - as long as the business/financial plan goes well, we'll be BI residents by 2010
