Yurts information ,free of "personal" stuff
#1
Aloha,everyone!
This section of the forum is a wealth of very useful information.Thanks to the wonderful people on this forum who helped me in my project generously ,not expecting anything in return.As an example,just got e-mail from Hotzcatz(thank you!) with advice on the plans,being drafted by a different person,which,buy the way,was highly recommended to me by the other member.
Of course,I am reading a lot on this forum too.
But often a very important and useful information gets drowned in the long discussions on a different subject and personal stuff.Yurt thread is an extreme example and for some reason was in 2 different sections of Punaweb.
Not everyone has time,patience and concentration to extract the information,which could be crucial,especially in the case of unconventional dwellings when there are more challenges on the road
than information available.
I can explain my idea on the yurts example.
I would prefer that someone else (the knowledgeable and respectful person on this forum):
1.summarize,get predrafted version of the reference;
2.ask the professionals in the business if the facts are correct;
3.with the majority approval post the refined version with the note that there are different opinions on the subject ,use the "search button";
4.advice the readers that the information is not the exact guide,the forum members are not responsible for any problems resulting from using it;
5.Direct the new members to post their opinion in the original thread.

I'll explain why the yurt subject is so important to me.
Not so long ago I was like Lostboystoy,so excited that I'll be leaving "mortgage free,rent free",I was telling all my friends..
Thanks to this forum I realize that yurts are not that cheap.
If the complete information was available for me from the very beginning I wouldn't waste my time and the time of the owner of The Yurts of Hawaii.Btw,despite what some people might think,our communication was civil.
For someone else yurt could be the right choice.
But that person's decision should be the informed one.
I really want someone else to try this,but may I suggest
the preliminary version:

1.As already established ,yurts are alternative dwellings and can have all modern conveniences.
2.They are permitable,though using the professionals is highly recommended,since there were instances of denial of the permits.(Please,use the "search" button).
Though the minimum size of the dwelling is different in the building code,only 30' yurts (about 800 sq ft) are guaranteed to be permitted.
3.The construction process most likely will require cash,since unconventional structures are problems for lenders.
4.Just the construction itself (without septic,plumbing,catchment,electrical) could cost up to $30K.
The prices are subject to change and differs depending on your choice of builder.
5.Insurance process is difficult.Consult the professionals.
6.Selling process is restricted mostly to cash buyers or seller financing.At this time there are no information on a loan being issued on the Big Island.

It was just an example.May be someone have a better version.
Thank you for your time.
