While i am not totally and completely up on my CROAKY ( only good coqui is a croak-ed 'CROAKY') frog jazz, but i found their eggs yesterday.. Surprising was that they were under a rock which the eggs were at least a foot below the surface.. Seems to me they need dark, humid, not so airy place to develop.. I guess mother squeezed herself threw some very tight spaces wiggling threw dirt, soil and decaying matter, well below the surface to place them eggs in 'just the right spot'.. To bad i came along. Not to leave out, she took her last hop just minutes before i found her stash, whilst i was cleaning up some leafy and decomposing mess and rearranging some rocks. So, eggs might not be a big problem.
However, on a side note, we replanted some small plants while on our lot and brought them home the other night, (just in case somebody else, thought we'd left them, 'free' for them (thieves))) and what you know they's a CROAKY, under a leaf, begging for forgiveness.. Saying something like; it wasn't his fault he was here, but great, great, great, great grandfather's.. Since he was such a adventurous critter, direct decedent from the first line, Apparently hopped on our plant after potting it, we squished him just them same..
