last ditch effort? SO says she hates hawaii...

"E", this thread really saddens me brah! Perhaps your wife needs to be around more people of her culture. You know, so they can share their adjusting/moving experiences. Does she have any Thai friends here yet?

My Japanese wife went through a bit of "Culture Shock", when we first moved here. We went from both having great jobs(Oahu), to no work here. But the thing that keeps it all together for us is being able to own a home! I can honestly say that staying on Oahu would have meant that I'd be a "lifetime renter", and that quite frankly scares the crap out of me! Deep down inside, it scares the crap out of my wife too!
But guess what,Eric? Now my wife loves it here! She has made a few Japanese lady friends(which really helps keep the sanity in our house),in and around HPP. As a matter of fact my wife loves it so much here now, she hardly complains about having to go to Waikaloa for work!

Eric, does your wife love to cook Thai food? Has she started her own Thai garden? Growing Thai herbs, veggies, etc,etc.. I have a Thai lady friend on 30th Ave who uses her one acre of land to grow all kinds of good stuff to make Thai food. Perhaps if she is interested in gardening I could introduce them to one another? A Network of friends from one's own country really works wonders..if you know what I mean?

E", if there is anything I can do let me know. I wanna see that you two make it here without any BS..

ERic, in closing, tell your wife, "jai yen-yen"
