Greg, the content industry is certainly not in the clear due the outrageous pricing for their product. But neither is the folks who pirate software, music, movies. Both groups are at fault as to why we are stuck with DRM.

Aaron, what do you think would be a good price to charge for online music per song? iTunes came out with a 99 cent price, and the record companies were still crying foul! The fact of the matter is the record industry has been price gouging us for sooooo long they don't want to give up those hefty profits. Personally, I think these record companies should only charge 25 cents per download. At 25 cents I'm willing to bet the piracy issue would go away. Music would be soooo cheap, who would need to use P2P technology?

DRM was not born out of piracy alone either. Even if people are illegally downloading music, what SONY did to their customers is down right dirty and crime too. A crime far worse than illegally downloading music!
