Aloha, Richard. If you search and research some of the old threads on Punaweb, you will find a lot of discussion on various subdivisions. In general, lower priced subdivisions tend to have drawbacks such as remote location, bad roads, high crime, etc. In the particular case of Nanawale, the lots are relatively small by Puna standards and the area once had a bad reputation for drugs and crime. This latter factor had improved dramatically, and the area has a lot of nice new homes and community improvement efforts that have drawn positive attention. I know several people who live there and love it.
