Saw that. Yah, I've been checking out their website. The Hawai'i County Fire Commission's minutes are available online, but I didn't get very far into that. New station for Pahoa, new joint FD - PD admin/support offices in progress, grant funds, new helicopter, ICS training, etc. It's all good stuff.
I'm not sure what I'm going to do when I get over there, but likely I'll be too old and out of shape to take an entry-level physical as a recruit firefighter or lifeguard. It really is a younger man's (and woman's) job.
Emergency preparedness consulting? Dispatcher? Maybe I just need to take up watercolors, play guitar, and decompress for about 5 years, then I'll figure out what I want to be when I grow up.[8D]
Aloha! ;-)
